which yet alone hath the ends of all things.”
Unseen Measure
2500 years of philosophy has something enduring to offer the world in every age.
This website, drawing from the classical-Christian tradition, offers some philosophical reflection on fundamental experiences in human existence.
Our living, belonging, loving, and dying are how we participate in the ordered totality of reality we call kosmos, a cosmos grounded in God.
I have earmarked six topics to question and reflect upon. As of now, only Grief is ready. I will add to this as and when time allows.
By asking pertinent questions about the meaning of some of these fundamental experiences of participation and belonging, and by offering some reflections on the philosophical contributions of various thinkers and writers, it is hoped that some insight, counsel, and consolation may become available to the reader.
At a minimum, an invitation to think more deeply about the immeasurable dignity of being human is extended in these reflections.
